Our Tradition

The family lineage that is known today as Cetak's Gourmet Meats & Sausages started four generations ago.  In 1904, Joe Dworak, the great grandfather of current owner Jason Cetak (pronounced "Chet-ock") immigrated to the United States, bringing with him long-standing family recipes for savory Czech bratwursts and sausages.  He took those recipes, combined them with a dedication to making people happy, and started North Side Meat Market as a way to support his family.  The Cetak name came into the business in 1939 when Joe Cetak, who married Dworak's daughter, Alma.

Cetak returned from World War II and went back to working for Dworak.  In 1964 Joe Cetak opened Cetak's Market in Ord, Nebraska.  Joe's son Allen joined him in the business in 1965 and Allen still continues the craftsmanship still today in Ord.  In 2006, Allen Cetak's son, Jason, decided to expand the family business, and opened Cetak's Gourmet Meats & Sausages in Lincoln, Nebraska.
 
It is from those humble beginnings that Cetak's Gourmet Meats & Sausages began, and the same principles of integrity and craftsmanship guide the family business today.  We still use the same family recipes in making our famous sausages as we did in the beginning, with the finest ingredients and an utmost devotion to quality.

Cetak's Gourmet Meats and Sausages devotes itself to superior service while remembering that each customer is the heart and soul of our business. It's because we pursue a high standard of customer satisfaction that we developed a different model of shipping than other meat suppliers.
 
We at Cetak's feel that none of our products should be frozen for days, weeks or even months before they are shipped to you. Any other steak company has freezer after freezer full of meat that sits crusted in ice, waiting for someone to make a purchase. When a customer chooses Cetak's, they receive meat that has been expertly cut only after the order has been received, guaranteeing the freshest and highest quality product possible. Additionally, because we are so particular with the process, we only ship orders of freshly-cut and flash frozen meat on Mondays, to ensure the delivery won't be delayed over the weekends.
 
To continue to serve our customers better, we have also honed our skills in other areas of the meat industry, and now offer a tremendous variety of steaks, sausages, hamburger, and all the accents for the perfect barbecue of gourmet dinner.
